12 New TV Shows We’ll Be Binging This Fall

Tacos & Tequila

Over the last few years, television has grown to rival films in ways we could have never imagined. Now, with the continued rise in streaming services like Netflix and Hulu, there’s a seemingly endless supply of entertainment at our disposal — some of which is great and, well, some of which is terrible. But don’t worry, SBP is here to do the dirty work for you. As we enter an exciting fall season for TV, we’ve compiled a list of 12 highly anticipated shows we’ll be binging into the new year. Grab the remote, pop some popcorn and dig in.

House of the Dragon

WHAT: House of the Dragon might already be in season, but that doesn’t make us any less excited. Based on George R.R. Martin’s book “Fire & Blood,” the series takes place 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and tells the story of House Targaryen — otherwise known as House of the Dragon.
WHEN: Sundays at 9pm ET
I was so excited to start watching House of Dragon! Who doesn’t love Game of Thrones?!
Parisa Nikzad

The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power

WHAT: Love Lord of the Rings? You’re in luck. This new series, which debuted on September 1, begins in a time of relative space where a number of characters confront the re-emergence of evil in Middle-earth and carve out legacies that will live on long after they’ve gone.
WHEN: Thursdays
WHERE: Amazon Prime Video
I am rediscovering Lord of the Rings through the new series, and it’s a blast! I love how there are multiple storylines to dive into and you can learn the history behind the stories that captured America’s heart on the big screen so many years ago. Plus, it’s the most expensive show ever made — that alone makes it worth a watch.
F. Ron Smith

WHAT: Monarch is a multigenerational musical drama about the Roman family who have built a country music dynasty. However, the origins of the dynasty aren’t what they seem, and the daughter will stop at nothing to protect her family’s legacy while ensuring her own quest for stardom.
WHEN: Tuesdays at 9pm ET
This show has everything I love: Country music, drama, and Susan Sarandon! It looks like one of my other favorite shows, Nashville, and I love how they incorporated actual country singer Trace Adkins to lend some gravitas to the series. Really excited!
Garrett Sanders

WHAT: The creator Modern Family is back with a new comedy series that follows the cast of a 2000s family sitcom that’s forced to come back together and adapt to modern-day issues while dealing with unresolved issues from the show’s past.
WHEN: September 20

The Masked Singer

WHAT: Returning to Fox next week, The Masked Singer is a reality singing competition featuring celebrities who wear head-to-toe costumes concealing their identities. The audience and panel of celebs place their vote, and the least popular is eliminated, taking off their mask to reveal their identity.
WHEN: September 21
I don’t watch a lot of TV, but my boys love The Masked Singer. It’s a fun show to watch with the whole family.
David Berg

Interview with the Vampire

WHAT: Interview with the Vampire is based on Anne Rice’s best-selling novel (seems like a trend, huh?) that tells the epic love story between Louis de Pointe, Lestat De Lioncourt and Claudio in 1900s New Orleans — as well as  the blood and the dangers of immortality.
WHEN: October 2
I cannot wait to watch the new Interview with a Vampire on AMC. For the longest, Anne Rice was hands-down my favorite author.
Bobby Neely

The Midnight Club

WHAT: An adaptation of Christopher Pike’s 1994 novel of the same name, this horror series centers on a group of terminally ill young hospice patients who gather at midnight to tell scary stories with a pact that whoever dies first must communicate with the others from beyond the grave.
WHEN: October 7
WHERE: Netflix

WHAT: Based on Gregory David Roberts’ best-selling novel, Shantaram follows a fugitive named Lin Ford who escapes to the chaotic 1980s Bombay. There, he falls for an intriguing woman and must decide between freedom or complicated love.
WHEN: October 14
WHERE: Apple TV+

From Scratch

WHAT: Based on Tembi Locke’s popular memoir, From Scratch follows Amy, an American student studying abroad in Italy, who falls in love with Lino, a Sicilian chef. The series recounts Amy’s life-changing journey of love and loss across cultures and continents.

WHEN: October 21

WHERE: Netflix

Cabinet of Curiosities

WHAT: From Guillermo del Toro comes this new anthology of sinister stories told by some of today’s most revered horror creators, including Toro himself. Unlike most Netflix releases, the episodes will be released over the course of four days, with the first two released on the day of the premiere.

WHEN: October 25

WHERE: Netflix
I’m looking forward to Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Cabinet of Curiosities.’ I have always been a fan of his imaginative films and I’m confident it will translate to TV. I love some good horror, especially around Halloween time. This will be spooky!
Brandon Smith

Welcome to Chippendales

WHAT: Welcome to Chippendales tells the outrageous origin story of Somen “Steve” Banerjee, an Indian immigrant who became the unlikely founder of Chippendales, the world’s greatest male-stripping empire.

WHEN: November 22

WHAT: Lucasfilm’s first non-Star Wars project in seven years, Willow is a fantasy series that recounts an unlikely group of heroes who set off on a dangerous quest to places far beyond their home where they must face their inner demons and come together to save the world.

WHEN: November 30

WHERE: Disney+
One of my favorite childhood movies being turned into a TV series, sign me up! I am a big fantasy nerd so I can’t wait to see how they adapt this one for the small screen.
