The past 365 days have been nothing short of unforgettable on the Smith & Berg Partners team. Beyond our collective real estate victories, like being named the #1 Team on LA’s Westside by RealTrends and The Wall Street Journal, we welcomed two new faces to the team, hosted an epic retreat in San Francisco, dished out 50+ stories on Tacos & Tequila, kick-started our witty “Out of Office” series and so much more. Let’s just say we’re feeling a little sentimental, which is why we asked the team for their favorite SBP memories from 2022 — plus their resolutions and manifestations for the year ahead.
Cheers to a healthy, happy and prosperous 2023; we look forward to being of service to our clients and beloved Westside community in the new year!

Favorite SBP memory from 2022: Another epic outing. Good sushi that rolled into Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle at The Forum. Working and winning with great team members in 2022 makes me smile.
New Year’s resolutions or three words to describe what you’re manifesting in 2023: In 2023, I’m looking forward to BBQing the perfect bone in ribeye. Breaking 90. Family trips.

Favorite SBP memory from 2022: My favorite SBP memory of 2022 is going to San Francisco with the team for 48 hours. After walking through the city we decided to take a break in the park and started an impromptu game of charades. That was so much fun.
New Year’s resolutions or three words to describe what you’re manifesting for 2023: I am going to focus on physical wellness in 2023. I love biking around Venice with my family and am looking forward to doing more of that in the new year.

Favorite SBP memory from 2022: I had one particular deal this year in Brentwood that was REALLY challenging. It was so difficult there were multiple times in escrow that I didn't think it was going to close, meaning my clients were going to lose their dream house. In the end, miracles of miracles, we made it to the finish line and I was so proud that I was able to guide a very challenging deal to a happy conclusion.
New Year’s resolutions or three words to describe what you’re manifesting for 2023: I really want to focus more on my girls in 2023 and not just nurture them, but help them find their passions and follow their dreams.
Courtney Welsh
Favorite SBP memory from 2022: My surprise baby shower was a highlight this year! I was overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness and generosity of my work family and little Lennox has been the best dressed baby in town as a result.
New Year’s resolutions or three words to describe what you’re manifesting for 2023: I can’t wait to get back to work after my maternity leave to use my brain in a different way, helping families make their real estate goals a reality. I honestly believe I can be a better mom and wife when I am working because my career “fills my cup” in a different way.
Bobby Neely
Favorite SBP memory from 2022: The Children's Burn Foundation Golf Tournament at Pelican Hill. Also being involved in the purchase of our (Rachael and I’s) first home together.
New Year’s resolutions or three words to describe what you’re manifesting for 2023: To honor the plans that I have made with myself, to stay away from negotiating my way out of those plans, and to keep pressing forward.
Katy Yambao
Favorite SBP memory from 2022: My favorite SBP moment of 2022 was the trip up to San Fran this summer. I loved getting out and exploring SF, having wonderful team meals and just getting a break from LA for a bit. I love working with everyone on the team, but also enjoy spending time with them outside of work. :)
New Year’s resolutions or three words to describe what you’re manifesting for 2023: I’m taking the lessons from 2022 into next year and ready for whatever is in store! I’m looking forward to growing and evolving in 2023.
Garrett Sanders
Favorite SBP memory from 2022: I had a lot of fun shooting our Tacos & Tequila Summer Cocktail Series! The day was filled with lots of laughs and lots of drinks. It was like an adult show and tell! I loved seeing what everyone brought as their drink choice and was inspired to try out a few for myself over the summer.
New Year’s resolutions or three words to describe what you’re manifesting in 2023: Two goals of mine this year are running a half marathon (maybe work my way up to a full marathon in 2024) and to spend more time with family! I'd like to plan a trip where my parents, who live on the east coast, come to visit LA so I can show them all of the amazing things they're missing out here (west coast, best coast).
Parisa Schnider

New Year’s resolutions or three words to describe what you’re manifesting for 2023: Manifesting a focus on health and wellness in 2023 because, as the great Rupaul says, “if you can’t love yourself – how the hell are you gonna love somebody else?” (can I get an amen?)
Oliver Maniquis

Favorite SBP memory from 2022: As the newbie to the team, the holiday party at Spago was my favorite SBP memory of 2022. It was thoroughly enjoyable mingling with everyone outside of the office and introducing everyone to my partner. Plus the food was DELICIOUS! I'm looking forward to making many more memories with the team in 2023!
New Year’s resolutions or three words to describe what you’re manifesting for 2023: My goals for 2023 are to be better than I was the year before in all areas of health, self and relationships. To continue practicing and leading with positivity, optimism and faith, especially in times of difficulty, and to make more time creating memories and checking in with loved ones. Bring it on 2023, show me what you got. Cheers!
